A Colorado Springs native, Emily is passionate about helping individuals and couples uncover their authentic selves and create lives filled with greater happiness, health, and fulfillment. She believes that the path to mental well-being is unique for every person, and that embracing authenticity is a vital part of lasting growth.
Emily works with clients navigating burnout, PTSD, women’s issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, codependency, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges. Previously working with teens in the school system, Emily has been working with teens for over 8 years.
In couples counseling, Emily works collaboratively with partners to explore shared goals, needs, and values, helping to strengthen emotional bonds and rebuild trust. Whether navigating relationship challenges, marital difficulties, or family discord, she provides a supportive space for couples to improve communication and create more resilient, connected partnerships.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Services, both from the University of Colorado. Her approach is client-centered and relational, tailoring each session to meet the individual needs of her clients. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, and other evidence-based techniques, Emily meets clients where they are and empowers them to move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
Emily is skilled in and hold special certifications in the following areas:
Brainspotting (BSP)
BSP is a brain-based therapy that can help gradually lower the level of activation in the body related to traumatic or difficult experiences. Brainspotting is often used to treat trauma without retraumatizing patients. Emily holds her Brainspotting Level 1 cert.
Women’s Therapy
Emily helps women with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, work life balance, burn out, eating disorders, and life transitions. She uses a person-centered approach and uses ACT, CBT, and IFS therapy modalities.
Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapist (EDIT)
Emily is a trained eating disorder therapist who utilizes CBT, ACT, Narrative and IFS tools in her work.
Trauma Therapy
Emily uses a person-centered approach to therapy incorporating Brainspotting, CBT, IFS, and ACT modalities.
In her free time, Emily enjoys being outside and hiking with her husband and dog or cuddling with her cats while watching movies.
