Celeste Apodaca
Celeste Apodaca, LAC, LPCC, Bilingual
Licensed Addiction Counselor / Dialectical Behavior Therapist / Cognitive Behavioral Therapist
Celeste is a border child; born in El Paso, Texas and shaped by life on both sides of the Frontera, between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez. She identifies as a bilingual-Spanish/English speaking, heterosexual Mexican woman, married, and deeply rooted in both cultural and existential perspectives. As a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), her work centers on walking alongside individuals as they care for their emotional and mental well-being.
Celeste holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso and an M.S. in Clinical Behavioral Health from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Rooted in an existential approach, her practice invites clients into meaningful reflection on their freedom, values, identity, and the purpose that grounds their lives. She integrates this philosophical foundation with evidence-based practices such as DBT, CBT, insight-oriented therapy, and family systems work, creating space for both structured healing and deep personal exploration.
In therapy, Celeste strives to offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel safe to explore who they are, where they come from, and who they are becoming. Honoring the courage it takes to face life’s uncertainties, she believes deeply in every person’s capacity to move toward authenticity, reclaim meaning, and build a life aligned with their truth.
Celeste specializes in working with Latinx individuals, adults, and those navigating recovery or addiction. She is especially passionate about helping people explore their identities, process lived experiences and reconnect with the parts of themselves that feel forgotten, silenced, or lost.
Celeste is skilled in and holds special certifications in the following areas:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Celeste is trained in IFS, a modality which addresses inner wounded parts that can cause internal conflict and relationship challenges. IFS supports trauma healing and promotes emotional regulation. IFS helps people feel more integrated, self-led, and emotionally balanced over time.
Addictions Therapist
As a Licensed addictions therapist, Celeste helps patients walk through addiction recovery using evidence-based practices such as DBT, CBT, insight-oriented therapy, and family systems work, creating space for both structured healing and deep personal exploration.
Trauma Informed Therapy
As a trauma informed therapist, she prioritizes safety & trust which means you’re never pushed to relive trauma before you’re ready. She will help to reduce shame and reframe symptoms (anxiety, anger, numbness) as adaptations, not flaws. Celeste works with patients to regulate the nervous system by implementing grounding and coping skills to calm overwhelm.
Mood Disorder Therapy
Working with mood disorders, Celeste helps stabilize mood and identify patterns, triggers, and early warning signs of mood shifts. She will also help you build coping skills by teaching tools for emotional regulation, stress tolerance, and problem-solving. The goal is to reduce intensity & duration of episodes and gain greater emotional balance, increased self-awareness, and practical skills to manage mood disorders with confidence and support.
Couples and Family Counseling
Celeste helps couples and families using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to understand the deeper emotional patterns and protective parts that show up in relationships. Together, creating a safe, compassionate space where both partners can heal, rebuild trust, and connect with greater clarity and emotional closeness.
Outside of the therapy space, Celeste finds grounding through family, travel, hiking, yoga, music shows and reading; practices that help her stay connected to her own values and well-being.
